You may think that standing in the direct sunlight for 45 minutes in a full suit and tie, at 4:00 in the afternoon, on one of the hottest days we had in late September sounds pretty awful. Not to Gary and Ken. For them it was JOYFUL and to all of us that were there with them. It is no surprise that these two individuals were surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends, supporting their union (after EIGHTEEN years together) and showering them with authentic, unconditional love. What an incredibly special day! Everything was perfect; the weather, the intimate location of the ceremony, the spectacular roof-top location of the reception, the food, the music, the people of course, and my favorite, Gary’s mom (who just celebrated her 94th birthday) was the ring barrier. Tears, love and happiness! You can’t beat that.
I feel especially blessed that Gary and Ken, my neighbors and friends, asked me to be a part of their day in this way. It was an honor and a hell-of-a-lot of fun! They are the best and deserve to be happIER together in this united way. Yay for them! Yay for Oregon! Congratulations Ken and Gary. We love you guys! Enjoy.
